Amateur researchers debunk the "autogynephilia" theory
Several large online surveys carried out by bloggers and other activists supports the scientific consensus: Ray Blanchard's two-type model of transgender women is seriously wrong.
The “autogynephilia” concept of Ray Blanchard is actively used by TERFs and other transphobes. They will probably continue to use it, regardless of facts, but it is possible to get potential allies to see through the transphobic arguments.
Given that a lot of trans people internalize the homophobia and the transphobia around them – which leads to feelings of shame and doubt – learning about the falsification of the theory can be liberating.
In a new post I have looked at the peer reviews science debunking “autogynephilia”. But I have also made use of several online surveys documenting crossdreaming and embodiment fantasies in all relevant groups: cis and trans, male female and nonbinary, gynephilic and androphilic.
The conclusion: Erotic embodiment fantasies are found in all these groups.
